DAFITC Breakout Training Sessions
Last year the Department of Air Force Information Technology and Cyberpower event offered over 185 breakout training sessions. The theme for 2026 is Accelerating the Digital Edge: From Enterprise to Orbit, and this theme features five unique training tracks.

AI-Driven Legacy System Modernization
This track explores how AI serves as a catalyst to modernize or refactor aging DAF legacy infrastructure. We will examine technical debt reduction and AI-assisted migration to cloud-native environments to increase readiness. This track will feature case studies from the Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Directorate and Space Force efforts to refactor satellite ground control and C2 software.
The Future of Cyber: Automated, Agile, and Assured
Shifting the Department from compliance-centric ATOs to data-centric, automated security. Discussions will cover the unique challenges of securing the entire “kill web,” from business systems to the terrestrial networks vital for Space Force satellite operations.
Acquisition on the Edge: Tailoring MTA for Rapid Capability Delivery
Delivering speed-to-market for the Warfighter . This track examines the use of Middle Tier of Acquisition (MTA) authorities to rapidly prototype and field capabilities. The goal is to ensure our acquisition strategies for battlespace networks and tactical data links out-pace adversary development cycles.
Upskilling for the AI Age: Training the Next Generation of Digital Warriors
The human element of digital transformation. This track explores innovative training models and professional development designed to build an AI-fluent workforce. We will focus on strategies to recruit and empower the Cyber Warriors operating at the intersection of human intuition and machine intelligence.
