AFITC Updates

AFTIC 2018 planning is in full swing! Here’s a quick round-up of some news, notes, and AFITC updates about this year’s event.

  • Registration is open. While you can most certainly register on-site, pre-registering helps in a couple ways. First, it means that you won’t have to stand in any potential lines. You simply show up, self-print you badge at one of kiosks, then proceed to pick up your lanyard and show bag, and you’re all set! Second, by pre-registering, you help organizers better anticipate the needs of those attending. Whether it’s private meeting rooms or additional hotel rooms, there are a variety of factors that can change based on overall attendance numbers.

  • The Preliminary Agenda is available. The preliminary agenda gives you a rough look at how this year’s event will go – when training/breakout sessions and keynote speakers are, when the trade show is open, and all the other details you need to begin planning your AFITC experience.

  • The AFITC is still accepting breakout submissions via the Call for Papers. Whether your in the public or private sector, the Call for Papers is your chance to play a larger role in shaping the AFITC. Breakout sessions have traditionally been the place for workshops, roundtable discussions, training, or feedback sessions that often times lead to deeper insights into the pressing topics surrounding IT, cyber security, and the role of the public and private sectors in maintaining a secure and superior cyber environment.

  • Hotel spaces fill quickly. Since the return of the AFITC in 2016, the event has continued to grow year after year. With more attendees and more exhibitors expected than the last two years, hotels close to the event are some of the first to fill. Book your room to ensure the best location to meet your event needs.

  • Exhibitors spaces are filling faster than in previous years. For those interesting in exhibiting at the AFITC Trade Show, most of the best locations have already been claimed, but with well over 3000 in expected attendance this year, there are still great locations available. Visit the AFITC exhibitor to browse information about the trade show, hours, or simply who will be on the trade show floor this year. Take your place among some of the most influential private sector organizations and play a role in shaping the public/private partnership that is critical to cyber security and cyber dominance.

As a final note, in the coming weeks expect more updates to the agenda, including the finalizing or keynote speakers and the introduction of this year’s training schedule. We hope to see you in Montgomery!
